As a kid I struggled with night horrors caused by a very active imagination. Many mornings I would not be able to separate the truth from the dream. During the worst times my grandmother was there to comfort and to explain that things aren't always how they seem. You can substitute the name Jesse for your own. I liked the sound of it in the song. After all, it's the name of my oldest son.

When Lola could protect no more
Grandma’s warfare ended with her final breath
Brought Jesse’s demons back in scores.
